If ever there were a more loathesome trio, it has to be Sarah Palin, who fumbled to even come up with the name George Washington, while talking to Glenn Beck. Book learning be too much for her. But not to worry, no more ad libs, no more relying on memory or rehearsal. From now on, it's all teleprompter alla time....
And then there is Pat Robertson, the shill, the false prophet, the wolf in sheep's clothing, the Judas, the pathetic excuse for all that remains of his humanness--the excrement. In a not-so-rare moment he snake-oiled about a pact with the devil. Look to your own, sir.
And then there's everybody in the Village's good buddy Rush. Racist, rancid, revolting. At long last, media, have you no shame? I waste no such expectation on him. But why are you coddling and embracing this vile sludge?

Undermining....

Joe Lie-berman and the friendly folk at Fox news have been quick to ramp up the Fort Hood shootings into national security. Hearings to come.
Not to be outdone, Senator John McCain joins in the fray at an event for Mitch McConnell:
Wonder which one of these guys will be first up in the lazy Rolodexes of the Sunday morning gas bag shows?
President Obama set exactly the right tone and the right message in his memorial service comments.
Give the guy due process, convict him and and carry out appropriate punishment.

Saxby Strikes Again...Snakes Always Do

You'd like to believe there would be some tiny kernel of decency and humanity lurking deep inside even the most craven of Rovian Rethuglican political types. You would be wrong.
On the ropes in his reelection campaign, Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss is bringing out the big guns. Nope, not the recent loser in the presidential sweepstakes. Although John McCain has been there, campaigning for Chambliss. The same John McCain who decried the tactics Chambliss used when he ran against then-Senator Max Cleland, a triple amputee, against whom Chambliss' cronies used advertising so vile--linking war hero Cleland with bin Laden--that McCain cried foul.
But that was then, and this is now. And the Chambliss campaign cronies are using the same vile tactics he used against Cleland to try to defeat Jim Martin. This time, Chambliss fellow-travelers like the NRSC and Ari Fleischer's Freedom's Watch are calling out Martin for being soft on crime against children.
Despite the fact that Martin's own daughter was kidnapped when she was eight years old.
Yeah, I believe that's a coincidence. Rigggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhtttt.
If we learned anything this election season, it's that the serpents never change. They prize their politics over honor, over integrity. They sting over and over and over....until they are completely, totally, finally voted out of office. One by one.
And we must be ever vigilant lest they coil and raise their heads again to strike...out.

Lehman Brothers in Bankruptcy...a company that survived the Civil War of the 19th Century and the Great Depression of the 20th Century cannot survive Bush-McCain Republican governing in the 21st Century.
Meanwhile, John McCain, surrounded by his lobbyist cronies like Phil Gramm and Charlie Black and his merchants of sleaze, tells us the fundamentals are strong.
But then when your wife flies you around in her corporate jet and wears $300,000 outfits to your Republican coronation and you have--what is it this week? 7? 9? 12? homes--and you get to put up your $500-shoe-clad feet at the end of a day of campaign lies and racist fearmongering and pandering for taxcuts for Cindy, I guess your economy is strong.
The rest of U.S., not so much.

We took a first step in 2006. Vote as if your country and your family depended on it.

Petty Officer

What does it say about the ol' Navy flyboy that he's willing to recklessly endanger the entire country...nay, the world...with his unvetted selection of just another petty ol' small town cronyist, cynically chosen because she wears skirts, who's in bed with Big Oil and Alaska separatists and dangerously incompetent and grudge-driven, to boot.
That he's four more years of the same ol'-same ol' politics by the lowest most cynical craven people who've driven the country into the ditch these last eight years?
Yeah, that's what I think, too.
And then some....petty officer McCain, not reporting for duty... as usual.

Palinoscopy

This morning on Imus, Sally Quinn recounted the reaction to her writing about Sarah Palin. "I've been called the A word, the B word, the C word...by Christians."
What Quinn calls the most important election in 100 years is now in the hands of a voting electorate who in large numbers on the Republican/radical right wing are responding to McCain's [Quinn's words] "cynical" and "brilliant" naming of Palin as his running mate with not only enthusiasm, but also a vituperative knee-jerk ranting at any examination of that running mate.
Imus responded with the same tired old argument: yes, but would she be any worse than Cheney? [Or Bush, given the odds that old, unhealthy McCain wouldn't last his term]
Why, Imus or anyone who poses that argument, would we want to settle for someone who at best is described as "no worse than Cheney"? Is that really the best we can do?
And if so, what does that say about us?
